Today we revisit an early Leash Lesson. Let's see how Dante and Crokell are doing with Leave It! We ramp up the testing with Crokell's favorite high value treat. Tune in to find out what it is!
Leave it was one of the first commands I taught our Aussies. I still recall being surprised when my boy, Bixby, wouldn't even glance at me, while the girl, Quinn, would make eye contact constantly. It took some time to make him understand Look at Me. Focus would've been easier. But over the years, he's become much more confident and doesn't look away anymore. Surprisingly, he's also the only one who actually COMES the moment I call him, the majority of the time. Not testing him in a dangerous situation. Leave it, thankfully, has held. Stay, with him, has held. The girl requires a visible treat. :D

Dante watches Anna all the time during class. Crokell has the wrong genes. But he'll do it wonderfully on command.
Yeah, those obedience genes HELP so much, even when mixed with a lot of working dog independence traits.
