Sunday Salutations and The Peace of Il-Maqluba
Yay! Tod and I got into another anthology. We just received the notice tonight and sent back the contract. So, our short story “The Peace of Il-Maqluba” will be coming out in the Falcons of Malta Anthology with Raconteur Press in late May.
We are very excited. There was much squeeing, which was fun because we got the notice in the middle of a role playing game session.
Incorporating Malta legends and folklore was a lot of fun. “The Peace of Il-Maqluba” is a one-off story not set in one of our planned universes. We do have a novel planned using some of the ideas, but centered around Texas.
Overall, today was relaxing, exciting, and just plain strange. But I still managed to edit a few chapters this weekend, make cookies, and try a new RPG with our group. Although, I just realized I have not finished grading homework for the graduate workshop I ran – the TA just sent the homework to me this week, but they need it back for final grades sooner rather than later. Meep. I guess I have some work to do.
Other than that.
Tod is a bit busy beta reading for a friend who has an important deadline coming up. Then he is focusing on his RPG and the blog upgrades! Go, Tod, Go!
We also are still working on our initial novel. I am currently on chapter 17. It is outlined to be 32 chapters. We will see if the lanterns I staked out will lead the story home through the storm of creative chaos, or if Tod will need to add a bit of oil to brighten the path sooner rather than later.
