Sunday Salutations and P-Con Preparations
Tod here – the husband half of A. Kristina Casasent. We’re getting ready for P-Con ( https://www.p-con.us/ ), the writers-oriented convention in Dallas, Texas. The con runs Friday, September 15 through Sunday, September 17, 2023.
This will be Anna’s first science-fiction/fantasy convention. She’s been to lots of biomedical research conventions, but they aren’t quite the same. (Hopefully, there’s a lot less science-fiction/fantasy at the research conventions.)
The science-fiction and fantasy guests of honor are both from Baen books. Charles E. Gannon, the Science-Fiction Guest of Honor, is best known for his Cain Riordan books ( https://www.baen.com/fire-with-fire.html ). Me, being the contrarian I am, often prefer the series an author is not best known for. I like Gannon’s fantasy Vortex of Worlds books more. ( https://www.baen.com/this-broken-world.html )
Jane Linskold, the Fantasy Guest of Honor, has the Over Where series out from Baen. ( https://www.baen.com/library-of-the-sapphire-wind.html ) The part I like best about the series is that it answers the question of: what if intelligent people that plan ahead were the ones sucked into an alternate fantasy world?
Here, we’ve posted the current programming for P-Con. We reformatted the schedule to provide side-by-side hour-by-hour views of the panels, as that makes it easier (at least for us) to determine which panels are at the same time. Details of who is on each panel have not yet been released by con staff. We will try to update, if possible, when the panel participants are known.
