Sunday Salutations and More Nano-Sapiens
Yay! Tod and I got into another anthology with Raconteur Press. We received the notice last week on Sunday, but it was after I had written and posted the Sunday Salutation. So, instead we get spread out the celebration!
This story is another story in our Nano-Sapiens Universe (https://casasent.blog/blog/home/universe/). The new story will be in Space Cowboys 3. Our very first acceptance ever was “Space Sheep and the Electric Cow” in Space Cowboys 2. As Raconteur Press is a rapid release type publisher, the new anthology should come out Friday, September 29.
Our story “Space Dog and Runaway Asteroid” will hopefully live up to the “delightfully weird” entertainment that we aim to provide. This is set in the same far-future universe, with talking dogs and cats, and even odder aliens. It will have some returning characters. I hope everyone will enjoy seeing more of Sparky and Sunset from a different Point of View.
Raconteur Press has a few of our other stories in the same setting in different anthology piles, so hopefully there will be more Nano-sapiens in future anthologies from them.
We are very excited and as usual, there was much squeeing and bouncing around. The weekend was made particularly fun when two of our horror stories were rejected the day before by a different publisher. (We like getting actual rejections. It’s so much nicer and professional than ghosting.) However, those are getting polished up with the help of a writing group. Then we will fire them off into the daunting land of open call submissions.
Overall, this weekend has been relaxing. We did not have dog training class. But have spent time reading, writing, editing, cooking, and bothering the puppy. Today I made gluten-free spice waffles as well as, with assistance from Tod, grilled lamb and corn for lunch. I expect I will post a few recipes this month. It is after all my birthday month, so cake is in order. I would say hint, hint at Tod, but I will make my own cake, Tod is already doing much by taking me to P-Con. (I am many things, but not a baker. -Tod)
Hope everyone else has a delicious and relaxing Labor Day weekend.
I will be laboring on editing.
~Anna
P.S. I am open to requests for different recipes. I plan to post at least one recipe a month.
