Sunday Salutations and Appreciate That!
This week was up and down as most weeks are, I think. I had jury duty sort of… I was excited because I am odd like that, so of course, I didn’t get selected or even to where they ask you questions. I only got to do the show up and sit and wait for them to tell you if the trial is even happening. Also, it was jury appreciation week (yay bottled water). I have never heard of jury appreciation week before. Has anyone else?
It seems like now there is a new week for everything. I hear next week is teacher appreciation. So, go appreciate your teachers, even as they give you finals. (Hint: from my sister who is a teacher, not flipping them off is a good start.)
We’re working our way through our first novel. Slow and steady. That wins the race, right?
I am not sure who or what we are racing but I am fairly certain we are the turtles. Always making some progress towards our finish line, but not jumping across acres nor running rings around anyone.
I revised the outline a little, flushed it out, and wrote the rough draft of a chapter this week. I wrote about 1400 words while sitting waiting in the court house, go figure.
Tod is hard at work on the blog back-end and hopeful we can transfer over the content soon to the newer (and prettier) version.
We were social again this weekend and had over my science-father and his wonderful talented wife. She made us a really cute bowl – which has lizards on it! It is like a Fluffy inspired bowl! (Fluffy is our crested gecko.)
I was going to grill – but of course the skies opened up and down poured something less pleasant than cats and dogs. So, we ended up not rolling out the charcoal grill. It worked out in the end and I didn’t end up soaked! Pan fried stakes are good. Not the same but still tasty.
We also had a beautiful salad. Tod liked the salad-dressing that our friends brought so much he got them to jot down the recipe. (You might have guess that we like food just a wee bit).
Our cats came out and enjoyed the visitors and extra attention. Â We were a little more cautious with the dog-monster. Crokell is crazy friendly, but there is also the whole 115 lb drooling Newfie slobber factory thing going on. Crokell was very polite. If drooly.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I also hope everyone remembers to appreciate your teachers next week.
